Great America

First time in shades... ready to take on the amusement park!

Olivia took her first ride on the Merry-Go-Round today at Great America!  She seemed to kinda like it too!  Kevin, Kathy, Olivia and Mom went to the park with the free Lockheed Family Day tickets and had a lovely afternoon.  Kathy and I rode the tower drop ride and Kevin and I rode the "Flight Line" (formerly Top Gun) rollercoaster.  Fun day.  Olivia had a nice ~2 hour nap before we went to the park, and snoozed in the stroller with Kathy while Kev and I waited in line.

Otherwise, Olivia is doing well.  I went out and purchased more pajamas for a 12 month old.  As it turns out, it's hard to find footsie pajamas for this age - presumably because most babies are walking at this point and footsies are slippery!  No matter, Olivia has some VERY cute pjs to start wearing.  Lots of photos to come!

I managed to do two "chore" type things today... 1) Set up a 529 CA college savings account for Olivia.  From what I've read, if you think your kid will go to college, this one is a no brainer.  2) Purhased a 5-gallon Shooting Star hydrangea - beautiful!  That one is meant for the back left corner of the yard.  I just hope the small one in the back right corner lives through the summer.

Tomorrow we plan to put the two Japanese Maples in the ground (and hopefully they will return somewhat to health... and shade the hydrangeas!)  We'll also go out to dinner for Delores' birthday.

OK, time to purchase a few things for Hawaii and skim a magazine.  Last night I fell asleep before Olivia did - complete with contacts and makeup still applied!  Gnight!
