Olivia is scooting around on that belly of hers now, and clapping her hands and High-5s are some of her favorite games! We're working on waving good-bye and blowing kisses. She has a special protest when something is out of reach, or she's unhappy you took something away. All veryyyy cute! Here are a few cute photos leading up to Mother's Day. Olivia scooted herself back into a corner the other day - ans was very proud and curious investigating everything. It's time to baby proof! (and drop her crib mattress lower)

Saturday before Mother's Day Kevin went to Pacifica and installed 5 windows at Kathy & Dave's house with Kathy and Charlie. Yay progress!! Meanwhile, I stayed home with Olivia to go to music class, except.... Princess made up for not napping at daycare and took a 2.5 hour nap in the morning (and 2 hours in the afternoon). Fine by me, I managed to plant 5 plants and put down 5 bags of mulch as well as mulch the veggie garden. Yay progress! I'll have to take a photo of the backyard this weekend to include in the blog. There are pretty good plants all along the back fence, I even threw down some zinnia and dahlia seeds that I really hope decide to come up. Unfortunately, it's been in the 90s this week so I'm hoping everything isn't fried.
By then end of all that yard work, I was feeling under the weather - dehydrated is what I thought was going on. So I went to bed early and was just low key when Kevin returned home.
My first Olivia-Art. How appropriate for Mother's Day! |
Sunday, Mother's Day, Kevin took care of Olivia in the morning so Mom could sleep in! When I finally arose around 10am, Kevin and Olivia had a balloon, card and flowers waiting for me! I love my little family! Kevin then made his breakfast specialty - crepes! Delish!!!! Very nice gift.
Shortly thereafter, I was down for the count. I ended up nursing Olivia to sleep in bed and Kevin and Olivia slept for 3 hours, during some of which I tried to accomplish a few small tasks, but mostly just lounged on the couch with alternating fever and chills and a stomach ache. Weirdest thing ever. I still have no idea what it was. Thus, a very low key Mother's Day, which was fine with me.
This coming weekend we were thinking of going to Great America Saturday, but are waiting to hear from some of Kevin's extended family to see if they want to go. If not, then we likely won't go - no point until Olivia is older and I'd rather take her to music class since we missed it again last weekend! I don't think I'll sign us up for music again next quarter. I like having a scheduled activity to do with my little girl, but her naps are so unpredictable that we end up missing a fair number of them and that's a waste of money.
OK, sleepy night-night time. :)
